Job Description
Generous Forest Services (Genfor) is a full-phase natural resource management company based on Southern Vancouver Island. Headquartered in Duncan with satellite offices in Nanaimo and Port Alberni. Genfor services include but are not limited to forest management and consulting, engineering, silviculture site plans, timber cruising and GIS analysis. We also offer contract supervision of harvesting, log marketing, and LiDAR drone services across coastal British Columbia. Our expanding client base includes community forests, woodlots, tree farm licenses, private land owners, government agencies and First Nations tenures.
Genfor is seeking (2) additional Forestry Assistants to join our growing field teams. The ideal candidates will be self-motivated, work well independently, eager to learn, coachable, and detail oriented. The Forestry Assistant would be a forerunner to becoming a Forestry Technician and offers a solid introduction to the field of Forestry for those exploring new career paths.

Responsibilities:

GPS and field data collection

Riparian assessments

Timber reconnaissance

Road and cut block surveying
Preferred Qualifications:

Previous forestry experience is considered an asset

Organized, physically fit, and possess good communication skills

A valid BC driver's license with a clean abstract

Level 1 Occupational First Aid

A commuter vehicle is available for those residing in the mid-island area. This position is for local employment (Monday to Friday excluding holidays) and does not require camp shift commitment.
